Evariste Galois 1811-1832 (Vita Mathematica, Vol 11)
Published in Paperback by Springer Verlag (December, 1996)
Authors: Laura Toti Rigatelli, Laura Toti Rigatelli, and John Denton
Average review score:

An excellent and enjoyable account...
of one of the strangest chapters in the history of mathematics. For those who know of Galois' life only from E.T.Bell's telling this work will hold surprises and serve to part his overly romantic fog with the clear light of solid scholarship.

Gaia's Drum: Ancient Voices and Our Children's Future
Published in Hardcover by Christopher Pub House (December, 1991)
Author: David E. Denton
Average review score:

This is not science fiction! An extraordinary thinker...
This is an incredible book that deserves much wider exposure. I have no idea why it is lost in the science fiction category.

Denton is a delightful writer, engaging and personable as he conducts a "conversation" with his reader. He offers cogent explanations, piercing philosophy, and elegantly simple, carefully reasoned solutions to the most pressing problems of our times, as well as a shining template for living with clarity.

While reading this book I was excited, humbled, challenged, exalted, and above all profoundly grateful to be holding the gift of David Denton's thoughts and ideas in my hands. He is undoubtedly one of the most extraordinary and overlooked thinkers of our day!

Grinning With the Gipper
Published in Paperback by Grove/Atlantic (September, 1988)
Authors: James S. Denton, Peter Schweizer, and Ronald Reagan
Average review score:

Get Ready to Fall Down Laughing!
This book is the best of its kind -- sharply adept in finding some of the funniest quotes by Ronald Reagan. Reagan's quick wit and gentle charm are brought before the reader's eyes in a way which reminds us of his inspiring leadership qualities as America's 40th President. Humorist, P.J. O'Rourke, writes a solid introduction which explains America's facination with Reagan as a leader, and Reagan's personality. If you're looking for a laugh, this book delivers

Horizontal Management
Published in Hardcover by Lexington Books (03 June, 1998)
Author: D. Keith Denton
Average review score:

Flattening organizations unleash latent organizational power
In this work on horiziontal maangement, D. Keith Denton writes of the need to delayer modern organizations and push reponsibility and accountability for work down to the lowest levels of the organization -- where the work is being performed.

The emphasis on his customer-driven model is creating employee involvement and empowerment at the level that interfaces with the customer. Denton's background in process management is apparent as he tells of traditional production models which often excluded customer needs and wants -- an American shortcoming that I often attribute to the rise of globalism.

Although the book is nearly 10 years old and out-of-print on Amazon.com, I believe that Denton is a visionary in customer-driven management systems, which makes this book a very important work.

I believe you will find this book to be very easy to read, enjoyable, and thought provoking.

Hunger for Salt: An Anthropological, Physiological and Medical Analysis
Published in Hardcover by Springer Verlag (July, 1982)
Author: Derek A. Denton
Average review score:

THE authoritative work on dietary salts
Derek Denton provides a detailed analysis of the breadth of scientific knowledge about salt up to the time of publication. This is an indispensible resource for anyone who wants to know "the whole story", as opposed to circumscribed knowledge. Unfortunately, the average research worker in the area of salt does not have the breadth of knowledge that this text offers. This is why research into this area has been slowed. Richard D. McCabe, Ph.D. Associate Professor of Physiology and Pharmacology University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences

If I Were Your Father
Published in Hardcover by Morrow Junior (June, 1999)
Authors: Margaret Park Bridges and Kady MacDonald Denton
Average review score:

Marya's review of, "If I were your Mother"
"If I were your Mother" is a great book for mothers to share with their daughters. In the story, a little girl explains how she'd treat her mother if her mom were her daughter. The daughter realizes that the thing that matters the most to her is the love that her mother gives to her daughter. The illustrations are in fun colors and convey the soft, loving message of the book. I really like the book!

An Old but Useful book
I read the abstracts and feel it useful to a technician currently. It's not old enough.

The Kingfisher Children's Bible: Stories from the Old and New Testaments
Published in Hardcover by Kingfisher Books (April, 1900)
Authors: Ann Pilling, Kady MacDonald Denton, Bruce Manning Metzger, and Ruth Zilenziger
Average review score:

The Kingfisher Children's BIBLE
I have looked high and low for a "Bible stories" book for my curious four year old. This one tells short stories from the Bible from the Old and New Testaments of the Bible that are clear and easy to understand. It is an easy reference when your child asks religious questions and you're not sure you know the answer. I've learned a lot too! Older kids will enjoy reading it and they will like the illustrations.
